Update 18th July
Following the governments exclusion of France from the “no quarantine” changes that came into effect on the 19th July we are now forced to travel from the Medway to the Medway and complete a 2,000 mile tour of Britain’s coastline – Down but not out!! Chris & Jason x Thanks for all of your support!!
It started with a beer . . . . a motorbike trip, from the River Medway in Kent head south and keep going until we reach the Mediterranean then, jump in!
Travel light, Tesco’s bag, pants and a toothbrush, no planning for the route, wild camp where possible, then let’s add a twist! Use the most prolific form of motorised transport ever known to man – over 100 million made, first introduced in 1958 and still being produced today, the iconic, the magnificent Honda Cub. The 3 speed, “step through” scooter, not for the motorway, 6 bhp, 40mph (max), 100 miles to the gallon!

Will these 35 year old scooters make it for the 2,000 mile round trip? How long will it take? Can two aging idiots survive each other’s company? A few initial hurdles to jump first, prepare the two bikes, one of us needs to get a motorbike license . . . again (he had one but the DVLA lost his records!), prepare the bikes, do some test runs, try out some local camping, decide what to take and how to carry it . . . there’s a lot to do!
Having both recently lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s and stroke let’s do it to raise money for two relevant charities, the Alzheimer’s Society & the Stroke Association.
The target is to raise £2,500. What could possibly go wrong!? Follow our progress, we’re on most of the social media sites, check out the links above and use the Join button in the menu to find us in our Facebook group. Many thanks Jason & Chris x

About the Honda C90
In continuous manufacture since 1958 with production surpassing 60 million in 2008, 87 million in 2014, and 100 million in 2017, the Super Cub is the most produced motor vehicle in history. Variants include the C100, C50, C70, C90, C100EX and C70 Passport, as well as the Honda Trail series.
The Super Cub’s US advertising campaign, You meet the nicest people on a Honda, had a lasting impact on Honda’s image and on American attitudes to motorcycling, and is often used as a marketing case study. (Wikipedia)
Chris & Jason met almost 20 years ago and have a number of mutual interests one of which is motorbikes. Chris has always planned to ride to the Mediterranean and jump in the sea, that was the start of this idea.
Over the years they pair have raised money for charity with a number of events with other friends including canoeing 80 down the Thames in Canadian canoes, cycling around London in dresses on Boris bikes, climbing Snowdon, 24 hour mountain bike race, a rowing and cycling 100 miles in a day.
Having lost a father and a mother in law in the space of a few months we wanted to complete this trip on the C90’s a raise money for charity.
There will be a just giving page in a few weeks. In the meantime we are seeking to raise awareness of what we’re doing and hope to bring people along for the adventure by sharing with them some of our humour, the preparations for the trip and every step of the trip itself.
We have a presence on most Social Media platforms but our main objective is to invite people to join us on Facebook, please use the Join button on the menu.
Come along for the ride and join us! Many thanks Chris & Jason x
